Had the guys over running trains today (big outdoor railroad...about 1500' of track), had a big cake my wife got, had a lot of fun with really good weather....usually it rains or pours.

So, last night I'm watching this show on Jim Beam, I think, and they talked about single-barrel bourbon, top shelf, 9 years aged minimum, so stopped and picked up some Knob Creek.

Got a bunch of small Dixie cups out, poured about 3/8" in the bottom of each for all the guys......Holy Flamethrower.

That is some good stuff.

Been about 4 hours, and I can still taste it.

Went to a "Scotch and Cigars" event last eve. A local distributor had that "new" single-barrel mash... it's by Jack Daniels. I stuck with the single malts, so didn't try it.

:grouphug: Happy Birthday Young-un.

I'm with you Doc, not a big fan of Bourbons but am a big fan of Single Malts. When I lived in Italy I also developed a taste for Grappa.

At least 4 of us had stogies going.
From my days in the Navy, sampling various distillates, I was NOT a fan of Bourbon, at all, but THIS stuff is not too bad......

Happy birthday to you!

Knob Creek is good stuff. There are some very nice Bourbons out there now (Woodford Reserve comes to mind).

Hey, hey, hey I know what a stogy is. At one time they had them flavored. I tried the mint. Actuall preferred the regular stogy and yes I did smoke them on special occasions with my buds. I.E. poker game.

You can all stop guffawing, thank you.

I've got THOUSANDS of photos.
Some are even digital!
Tried to add one...three times I re-sized it, says it went, we'll see. This is at the convention last August, looking from the driveway over the bridge on the Lower Laurel Branch to the Steven's Canyon Trestle.

Get to th' SHED then!
