Hello,
I am currently working on the front suspension/steering of my 60 Bugeye. The swivel pin has some play up and down and side to side - I am not mechanic, but this can't be good. I noticed that neither Moss nor VB carries the parts or sells refurbished swivel axles for a 948. My question is can this section be repaired? If so, can someone tell me a place to have this done and the price? Any help would greatly be appreicated.

Kevin

But the swivel axel does not wear out only the bushings between it and the swivel pin, and the fulcrum pin, and the A frame which can be rebuilt by an expert.

Just done this myself. You can either buy exchange stub axles; i.e. moss 2A4304BE (you can get them cheaper than this). Or as I did fit & ream in new king pin bushes, with adjustable reamers. Though it is quite dificult & you'll need to make a jig to get them ligned up.
A decent machine shop (perhaps an older established one) should be able to do this.
