6 & 7 inch wheels

I don't want to step on Brosky's thread about wheel choice. I know what I'd like, but not how to get there.

I'm starting to shop for wheels for my 6. I have made my mind up on Panasports. What I'm debating is the wheel width and diameter.

I'm considering a 6 X 15 inch wheel for the front and a 7 X 15 inch for the rear.

I have lever shocks and have no intention of converting at this time so I think the 7 will fit on the rear.

Has anyone done something like this? If so, what size tires did you use to maintain an even look from front to rear? I tried Tire Rack but couldn't answer my question.

Any suggestions or problems with this setup?

edit: I should mention my cars a 6

Re: 6 & 7 inch wheels

While you're looking, why not consider +1 sizing and go to 16" rims? A few people have done this on a 6 with 7" rears.

Re: 6 & 7 inch wheels

I have 7" Konigs on the rear of my '6'; stock suspension; no problem.

I have 7" Konigs on the front of my '6'; reversed upper 'A' arm pivots; problem.

I have modified the upper ball joints to deal with a rim to upper ball joint interference condition on turn in. I have documented this with photos but haven't been able to drive the car (to test). I cannot back the car out of my garage because of construction in front of that bay. I will report on this as soon as I am able.

The wider wheels and the 205/70R-15 tires and the negative camber provide very solid handling compared to the stock wheel/tire configuration.

I do not know whether non reversed 'A' arm pivots cause the same interference on 7" wheels.

As I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago. I would be greatly tempted to go with 16"x7" wheels to avoid potential rim to ball joint contact. They were not available at the time of my purchase.

Hope this helps. Keep on.
