TR2/3/3A 56 TR3 Clutch/Brake Pedals

A surprise this morning. Am slowly starting to replace rebuilt components in the car. The surprise is that it appears that the pedal assembly I've carefully rebuilt is not correct for my car. It was the one that came with the car (in a box, not actually in the car), but I'm thinking now it is from a later car. The part where the pedal lever engages with the clutch and brake cylinder is bent, but in the manual it appears it should be straight. Assume I need the straight variety? As is, won't fit through the slots in bulkhead or metal mount for hydraulic cylinder. Can the pedals be replaced with "straight" ones, or do I need to start the search for a whole new assembly? Frustrating! Cheers, Mike

Looking at the SPC, it appears that only the pedals themselves changed for the conversion to front disc brakes. So you should be able to keep everything else.

Finding wrong parts is very typical when you buy someone else's project. There is a strong tendency to assume "They're all the same"; and of course the pedals you have do fit a later 56 (like mine).

Hi Randall

Yes, I guess that was the change-over point when Lockheed single master was changed to dual Girling set up. Anyone know of a source of a rebuildable set of pedals for the Lockheed set up?

Cheers, Mike

Yes, exactly. The bores of the single master were much closer together than the individual Girling cylinders could be mounted.

Sorry, I don't have a pair of the early pedals. But you might try placing an ad in the Classifieds section, or contacting Scott Harper https://www.teamtriumph.com/

Hi Randall ... Thanks for the suggestions. I think I was lucky enough to find a set of pedals yesterday that are a couple hours drive from here. Cheers, Mike
