53 years....That's how long it had been since this gentleman, Bob Schorr, had last ridden in a Sprite. When Bob was in the Army, he was stationed in Germany in 1960. He and his buddy went on leave and toured Europe in a Bugeye Sprite. When he got home the following year, he purchased one for himself. He traded it in for a 1963 Ford Falcon convertible. Bob did say that he attracted more attention from the ladies while driving a Bugeye than any other car.

Bob is now 80 years old and has been one of the volunteers who have been restoring planes at Jack Kosko's facility in Fawn Grove, PA. I brought the Sprite up there today specifically for Bob and took him for a spin. I think he liked it:

Despite the temperatures hovering near 90, the Sprite made the 140 mile round trip flawlessly. In fact, I turned in the best gas mileage ever recorded since I have owned the car, right around 30 - 31 mpg. Here's the old girl taking a breather...

That's a fine looking ride!
& Mr. Schorr's smile says it all.
(looks like he's ready to troll for babes all over again!)

What a great thing you did! The smile on his face tells a million stories.

Imagine all the folks - both young and old - who'd love to be a passenger in our Little British Cars.
