'52 XK120 FHD Coupe fender question.

I am currently reaching the end of my long sheet metal battle with a severely rusted and damaged 120 Fixedhead for one of my customers. My question is with the mounting surface for the headlight assembly. I have seen many variations. The head light pod in it's current state has a formed stamping that is welded to the pod, however it looks a little added on. I have also seen the headlight mounting surface that was just a flat ring of sheet metal with the proper mounting holes welded to end of the pod. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JD

What year 120? The earliest had the running light pods bolted on and chromed. Give a year and serial # and I'll look in parts book.

I probably made my question more confusing than it needed to be. My question was the headlight mounting surface on the forward facing mounting surface on the headlight pod. I feel that it should be different than I have pictured. In the end it won't effect the end result, however I am sort of a perfectionist and I would like to think if I am having to fab from scratch, I would prefer to do it correct. Thanks! JD

I'd have to look, but I might still have pics from when my '53 was in bare metal that may or may not help. I'd be happy to take... well... pictures of pictures and send 'em, if I can find them.

Email is best, I don't check in here very often...

A question, did this car have its shift lever bent towards the passenger side? Did it also have 3 webers? If so it was once my car and I can remember very vividly how that left fender got crunched....
