October 1, 1962. James Meredith attended his first class at the University of Mississippi.

A fine arts student at the University, Marleah Kaufman Hobbs, painted a picture she called "Burning Man".

An milestone day, I also heard about it on 'Morning Edition,' but really appreciated the photos.

Ummmm, Mr. Meredith should get out more, as there are more white girls going with black guys than white in our local school...

I don't see how he can believe that. The Delta is the most racial harmonious place I've ever been...and I've been a lot of places.

Seems to me, you always find what you're looking for...cause you don't stop lookin' till you see it.
