Kim mentioned diff ratio and he has a fairly rare ratio in his, that lets him cruise quite comfortably, this or a 3.7 can be a alternative to a 5 speed gearbox,

What's he got, the 3.55 VB offered a while back?

I think that is right, I know he loves it, and his Midget goes quite well in the mountains.

Yeah, I got the 3.55 and with the 5 speed the OD can only really be used on level highway, but it makes for quiet highway driving and 4th is about right most of the time. I like it a lot but I kinda figure most people would not like it because most people think they have to drive in high gear all the time, and it don't have any real pickup in 5th. Its like a modern OD gear but its what I wanted. I would say a 3.55 and the original 4 speed would be just great for most. I drive in 4th which is 1:1 just like the original.
