Got this a while back, covered it and have been waiting for "time" to do something with it. Basically rust free except for surface, eng out but all machine work ahd been finished and parts to re-assemble it. PO punk nephew busted all glass but have found a complete set about 100 miles away. All chrome except for 3 or small bits totally refurbished and wrapped waiting to be installed. Place that has glass has the missing chrome. Biggest problem is deciding whether to stay with the stock flathead 8 or install a sb Ford V-8. Going to stay with stock color for the year as wheel as wheels.

Jack, I swear you need to start a car mail order firm - finding and shipping treasures to order. I don't think I have ever met anyone with your knack for this. Now if you would only adopt me.....

This morning I was in a local upholsterer's shop, having them check the headliner on the wife's SUV. There's a Ford in there much like that one - nice flat black paint and custom interior. Lots of heavy metal there!

If this were mine, I would stick with the flathead. Nothing like the sound of a flathead from starting to vroom vroom. Maybe not stock. Compare the open hood look of a flathead with some finned Edelbrock heads and dual stromberg 97s to a sbf. The sbf (or sbc) is IMHO boring. You won't have the HP that you will never use but you will have cool factor that can't be beat.

With all my spare time(joke) I am slowly going through the flathead inventory that came with the car and I'll have to do some scrounging to complete it. The place that has the glass also has some flatheads so I may pick up a couple complete one and that will be that. I also love the sound of the Ford flatheads and have owned a few...36 4 door, 48 2 dr. coupe...fun to drive and almost bulletproof..and a blast. As far as finding cars, I don't go looking normally but when people cruise by my outside shop area and see not only Bugs..but like yesterday there were 3 B roadsters, a Shiny red BGT for sale, my CGT and my A coupe. Had them all out cleaning shop. Those and the Mustangs, BMW..and various other cars seems to hypnotize folks and they stop and ask if I need more. I'm weak...so I say sure. The place that has the glass has dozens and dozens of old Fords..mostly 40s -60s..heaven.
