First, the difference between a "good spline & bad spline is not real obvious, to the naked eye.
(I used a 3.5x magnifying glass to examine mine)
a new spline is symmetrical with a rounded conical tip (or ridge). A worn spline is more like an acute triangle, with a sharp tipped ridge. As splines wear down they have a lower profile, and look more & more like a cresting wave.

According to Allen Hendrix, worn splines can be very dangerous in hard driving. Under stress, a worn hub extensions can slip, allowing the wheel to lose traction sporadicly, risking Losing control.

Here is a Hendrix wire wheel tips link :

that I found very helpful.

second: as I mentioned in my last Blog entry, I had three hub extensions with seized nuts.
after making a search on You tube, I found these highly recommended craftsman "bolt-out-plus extractors.
i had the seized nuts off within in five minutes with no hassle at all. Whereas nothing else I tried so much as budged them. These extractors are worth their weight in gold.

notice the bite it put on those nuts.

my new Wheels & tires should arrive from Hendrix by next Tues. I am looking forward to the test drive.

Wow!
an amazing difference. The smooth well balanced ride coupled with the flat cornering with the anti-sway bar made, made for a very impressive test drive.
