I'll never learn. I have been kind of looking for a truck, because I need one like I need another hole in my head.
Anyhow, my friend was selling one. A 95 Nissan 2wheel drive 5-speed.
Now, you need to know that here in the heart of the rust belt, a 95 anything is rare. Nissan trucks especially as they were made out of 40% iron oxide from the factory. So this one is a bit of an anomaly. The body is in very decent shape, but the frame is made of swiss cheese. I only had 89K miles. and has only ever been a secondary vehicle used for hunting, trapping, and kayak transport. The underside is rusted from sitting, not from road salt.
I was the last chance this thing had before going to the scrap yard, as it is borderline structurally unsound. But at that price, I figured I'd bite.
So far I had to pick the mouse nest out of the blower motor, and repair the filler hose so I could get some fuel in the tank instead of all over the pavement.
Tonight I finally got the filler repaired, and filled the tank. And guess what? it's leaking out around the sending unit........
AAARRGGG!
So begins the latest uphill battle.
Now I gotta fix the fuel leak before I can start welding on the frame.
I think I already said..... I'll never learn.
