I'm not sure what the reaction is going to be when I attach this picture. Perhaps I'll just say nothing and see what other folks have to say...

"...And a partridge in a pear tree..."

Great picture!

Mickey

Well they are kind of dirty.

They are dirty because they have not had a jlaird or a spritenut lavishing thousands of hours of labour on them.

All four are restorable and the front upper bonnet panels and the rears are mostly OK.

Starting from left...

#1 is OK underneath but not too good at the sides.

#2 is bad underneath and at the sides and the left front wing is going to need major metalbashing or replacement

#3 is the worst, major rust, but not as bad as spritenut's "before" pictures

#4 has had most of the rusty panels cut out and is probably the one with the least rust but then it has some major gaps where rusty panels used to be.

In the shelving system underneath can be found most of the parts needed to restore these 4 Bugeyes.

Another picture taken at the top of a convenient ladder is attached. I will put the original 5MPixel pictures up on my website when I get a moment.

Showed the photo to my wife. I explained to her how, with this vertical storage system, we could have two more Bugeyes. She said "Not only no but heck no. Don't even think about it!!"

Jack, now there are 4003.54329 BE still around .

hehehe
Patrick

Yes, all four of them are six feet off the floor, and you can walk in underneath them, that's how I know what they are like underneath.

Where are these guys, in N.C.? That first one is the same color as my first, but lacks white stripe!

Yes, these 4 are here in Raleigh, NC, and are all for sale. I took these pictures today.

Hmm...Raleigh is awfully close. But I can't afford another project AND the alimony that would follow. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

Another stash of bugeyes. Oh my word. Talk about barn finds, and all the bits as well.

You might have kin in Wichita KS. A friend just went down there and bought one of five out of a collection. This individual also had a bunch of other toys (all brits) besides the bugeyes. Several of his bugeyes were either restored or in the process of being restored.

If only I had a barn... It's be like having a Bugeye parts counter right there. Probably for the best that I don't. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, everybody ought to have a barn! The stuff dreams are made of, oh for a weekend to rummage through a place like that! Chris what is the status of parts availibility from this cache? who do we call to find something we need, or prices on the cars even? Should we go through you?

The cache belongs to Bill Hargrove, and is located at

Import Car Center
9101 Durant Road
Raleigh, NC 27616
919 872 5775

about 1/4 mile from the intersection of Durant Rd with Capital Blvd. I think Bill will want to keep the specific Bugeye spares associated with the tubs, but he has an Aladdin's cave of other stuff.

Please tell Bill I sent you.

Thanks! I will have to call him after Christmas fund drain is checked!

Seems to me this should be a Spritenut job.
