Well this is a little embarrassing but somehow I managed to not mark the direction the 3rd/top gear syncro hub goes on the mainshaft of the transmission. One side of the hub is more extended than the other side. There is a flat "contact" area on the less extended area. In looking at it I think it goes on with the more extended hub facing the rear (or 1st gear) and the "flat" area facing the input shaft but I want to be sure. I know most of you don't have a opened transmission laying around but if anyone knows I would appreciate some input. Most items I can tell from either the Haynes manual or the factory manual but I really can't tell by the pictures in them.

I underlined this from the Haynes manual, page 115 #19 that pertains to the reassembly of the mainshaft and the 3rd/4th gear synchro hub. "The protruding end of the hub must face the front of the mainshaft".

Now I am really embarrassed. I am actually using a TR250-6 Haynes manual but it is same page and item number. I don't know how I missed it but Thanks Berry problem solved.
