3rd brake light electrical question

I found a cool flexible 12v led light strip on ebay. I was thinking of fabricating a custom 3rd brake light for my mini with it. Can I just hardwire it to the brake lights or does it need one of those newfangled logic circuits?

Wired mine direct on my TR6.

Direct to the brake light is fine - especially if its an LED (low current draw). You might also consider one of those handy dandy "flasher" gizmos. Makes it evem more visable:
