3000 Oil Burner

I just had new intake and exhaust valves, seats and guides replaced in my head. The No. 6 exhaust valve face had a chunk broken out of it.
The shop that actually did the head work has been doing this for years so I assume they got the guides reamed right and the "o" rings re-installed.
A compression check done after re-installation shows about 150 PSI in each cylinder and the plugs are all uniformly black. The car burns oil like a mosquito fogger now. It didn't do this before the head rebuild.
At first I thought of a cracked or worn ring problem but it seems to me that would show up in a compression check.

HELP!!! Does anyone out there have any advice.

Thanks in advance,

My guess would be that since you no longer have the compression bypassing through the valves, you're getting blowby past worn rings. I had the same thing happen to me once, on a non-LBC.
What kind of compression did you have before the valve job, and how many miles are on the rings?
Does it smoke constantly, or only under vacuum conditions, such as decelleration, or at a shift point? If its under vacuum, it would point towards excessive clearance on the valve guides, or maybe improperly installed, or missing valve seals. I doubt the latter though, as if the guide clearances are correct, you wouldn't notice any smoke this early.
Run it with the oil filler cap off, and see if you can detect any pressure coming out of the crankcase. This indicates blowby.
A cylinder leakdown test will pretty much tell you where the problem is.
I'm sure I've forgotten something, but no doubt someone else will remember it!
