<span style='font-size: 17pt'> I was at the Twin cities Roadsters swap meet in St. Paul on Sunday and one guy had an '86 Beemer for sale minus eng/trans for $300.00...nice car that puked a motor. I almost dished out the $$$ and would have brought it home...but I already have 6 cars that don't run!</span>
 
These cars are very popular in SCCA and NASA racing.
In fact, there is a dedicated "E30" class for them in NASA. I see lots of them in my local, eastern USA club-racing too (EMRA).
Other than Honda Civics, these are probably one of the best tin-top cars to buiild into a racer.
