March 19, 2005 Otis Chandler Vintage Museum - Oxnard, California

The private collection of newspaper magnate Otis Chandler is open to the public three days per year, March 19 being the first date this year. The exhibit reflects Mr. Chandler's taste in antique 20-30's era automobiles, rare Porsches, a few muscle car era automobiles, an extensive collection of motorcycles and his collection of hunting trophies (stuffed animals!) displayed throughout the museum.

The website is www.vintagewheels.com and the museum is located at 1421 Emerson Avenue in Oxnard. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the admission price is $7.

Might be a good gathering place for a bunch of LBC's, or a caravan up or down the coast!

I went to this event last year with an MG club. It is well worth the trip. The collection is simply amazing!

If anyone is planning a trip this year I would be intrested in joining the caravan. I'm about 30 miles south of the museum.
