The good news is that the compression on each cylinder was approx. 165-170psi. I believe the cylinders are bored out to 89mm ( as per my mechanics, though I haven't confirmed it)
So therefore the higher compression
( stock norm is approx. 120psi) is probably ok.
Though i did err, by opting to do a wet compression test. I squirted in 30w oil & repeated the test.
All cylinders registered at about 190psi.. Not bad.
but I must have injected to much oil in the cylinders, because now i have fouled the plugs & it will not start.
so to take advantage of the non-start situation, I took all the plugs out, and adjusted the rocker arms under the valve cover. Using a gap of .010mm on both intake and exhaust .
i used a 15/16 socket to turn the crank bolt, clockwise, and then adjusted each cylinders valves In turn, as per "Macy's Garage" article.
i had to try it a couple of times before I got the hang of it. The valves, rockers & pushrods all looked surprisingly good.
