25D Vacuum advance module

I have a vacuum advance module with a broken loop on the end of the spring and another with a good spring but a ruptured diaphragm. My question is how is the spring attached to the diaphragm? I haven’t gone through the process of un-crimping the two halve of the module yet; I want to know if I should even bother. If anyone has a good diagram of a 25D I’d be interested in seeing it. The one I have is pretty generic. Thanks.
