On October 1-3, 2004, the Shenandoah Valley British Car Club will host its 23rd Annual Fall British Car Festival. This will be held in conjunction with the Waynesboro, Virginia Fall Foliage Festival in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of VA.

In its 23 rd year, this car show has the distinction of being one of the oldest of its kind on the East coast. We expect over 200 cars from at least 12 surrounding states. All British marques are welcome and most will be represented.

Classes will be determined by pre-registration, and awards will be presented at the Saturday night banquet, based on voting of the participants.

The host hotel, site of the Friday night free reception and the Saturday night awards dinner, is conveniently located near the intersection of I-81 and I-64 in historic Staunton, Virginia.

The Car Show on Saturday will have the cars displayed over several acres among the massive oaks of Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, a twenty minute drive from the hotel. There will be a number of car related vendors and a snack bar with food and refreshments. Waynesboro is only minutes from the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. These are a joy to drive and view the fall foliage.

Be sure to place in your schedule our free Friday night reception . We will be having a very special British/Irish group playing that evening for your entertainment , The Ryegrass Rollers . If you have not participated in this event before, you may want to make it a priority this year!

Come join us for a wonderful time and a chance to see many exciting British cars and meet the people who love them!

I'm entering in it this year! If you're within 100 miles of the show and aren't busy this weekend, you have NO excuse not to be there! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ah, alas, the car show has once again come to pass. Every year, going to the park early Saturday morning is like Christmas to me, and this show was particularly good. We had about 220 cars participate, many from out of state. One fellow came from Australia, though I'm not sure why... I believe the farthest drive was from Atlanta, Georgia or thereabouts.

As for the show itself, it was as good as always. The weather was originally supposed to be rainy, but the rain held off until about 2:30, and up until then it was very nice: cool and sunny. The very special cars that stand out in my mind as being unique are a 1926 Rolls Royce, 1970s('73 maybe?) Lamborghini Miura S, which entered in the 'Some Other Marquee Class,' a 1946 Jaguar Mk IV sedan, and one VERY old car that Mike Gassman brought along. Unfortunately I don't recall the name, perhaps Mark Brown will know.

As always, there were perfect examples of every kind of LBC. Going to this particular car show made me really want to restore my 6, since it was the first year I've actually entered in it. The banquet after the show was also a lot of fun, with Bill Krzastek (pronounced Kraz-tek) MC-ing, if any of you are familiar with him. If you attended the show and didn't go to the banquet, you missed out **cough**Mark**cough**.

Naturally I took some pictures of the show, which are being developed right now, so I'll post pictures in a few days.
