2008 GetTogether

Ah-hah, Spritenuts posts are stuttering too!! It's not just me.

A bit early to tell yet, but my hope is to drive the BE there. I love the idea of droves of BEs converging from all over. If these crazy Harley guys can ride their bikes hundreds of miles for gatherings, by-gum so can we, right die-hards!

Heck, I drove my first BE from Bradford Pa. to Tulsa OK. and back (most of the way & too many years ago, though!!)

I'd love to drive the bugeye there, but I'm not sure I have the nerve. I'm a little concerned about it making the trip--after all, we're talkin' something like 2000 miles and these cars do NOT have a reputation for reliability! And, I still haven't worked up the nerve to take it on a freeway, although I realize there's a big difference between LA freeways and long-haul interstates through the countryside. The car really was made for narrow, winding country roads in England, not US interstates. Still, I suppose I can fantasize...!

Maybe by 2008 I'll be more comfortable with the idea.

If it makes you feel any better Steve, the 'safety in numbers' remark rings quite true.
The three Spridgets in our club will drive together, with one of the wives (not mine!) driving an SUV laden with spares, fluids, gaskets and tools.
Hopefully, we can meet others along the way and increase the safety/reassurance factor.
Should be quite the adventure.
