Spitfire $200 Project spitty on craigs list in oregon

That is a steal. I could sure use that hardtop. I just don't have the extra $200 for at least a month. Too bad. Poverty sucks.

Somebody will sure get a deal.

Scott

For $200 I'd buy it.I keep thinking.....
But it's too far away, etc.By the time I could get
up there,it'd be gone.Help!

- Doug

Oh man I want it! No cash till at least the first though. I doubt it will last.

I think that its gone already. last time i looked the advert was pulled.

Wow, can you say STEAL? The hardtop alone is worth much more than the asking price!

That was my thought exactly! If it was a little closer I'd be all over that (of course I have a 78 Spit so Could use the parts)

Car was still available - some unknown person flagged it.
If eejay56,or skucera would contact me,we could save it.

Wonderful, I get sent to Singapore and a deal opens up almost next door. I sent an email to see if it is still available. I would buy it if it is. Waiting to see if I get an answer.

I have some outdoor storeage available for short term... I have three wedgies a Triiumph wagon and my brother's two mg's right now so I'm not interested, but I have room still in my driveway if some one wants to make arrangements to purchase. I could go get it if he has a trailer available or the buyer wants to rent a uhaul for local tow. I think a slider bed would be around $100 for Corvallis to Eugene. I usually use Froggy's Towing for moving cars around.

The person I talked to has a Paypal acct.I was willing to
put up the money (provided that I get paid back in a reasonable amount of time),but got no takers.

I win! I'm going to pick it up Saturday. I can't wait to have a garage full of Spitfires. Any suggestions on the best place to rent a trailer? It turned out that Doug's kind and generous offer wasn't needed because the guy is willing to hold it. Thanks again, Doug.

Congratulations, you were who I thought of first when I posted this on BCF. When I moved my brothers MGB's I rented a tow dolly from Uhaul. they charged me about $50 for one day. Their car haulers are open in the middle and make it hard to center a narrow vehicle without falling in, also its easier to winch a non-runner on a two dolly. The distance isn't too great and you can stay off I5 if you like.

I'll have to come up sometime and visit your shop.

what are the plans for the second spit? another driver or a parts car? or a nice trailer queen and a daily driver?

i'm gonna have to meet up with you for coffee or something sometime. same town and yet to meet. I was actually thinking of going to the next ptoa meeting...

Flinkly,
I've got to get it home and see what I've got before I decide what I'm going to do with it. My initial thought was for a parts car but after talking to the seller I think it may be restorable. He says the engine was rebuilt shortly before it was parked. The interior is trashed and there is rust on the floorboards but all that could be doable. He is going to trailor it up here for me for 100$ That seems fair, it's 50 miles and I couldn't rent a tow dollie because I don't have a 3/4 ton truck. Sure couldn't get it towed for that. That brings the price up to 300$ but with a good engine, hardtop, and a trunk rack it is still a great deal. I haven't made it up to a PTOA meeting for a couple of months. Send me a PM and we'll get together maybe we can play cars.
philman,
Definitely stop by if your in the neighborhood. I'm going to try to get down to the EESCC Icebreaker autocross in March. Maybe we can get together then.
