I have two complete Triumph engines available. CT39052E would equate to a 1963 TR4 and includes a set of Stromberg 175 carbs, head, and 4-speed transmission. CT50596E would equate to a 1965 TR4A and also includes a set of Stromberg 175 carbs, head and a 4-speed transmission. $500 each.

Both were said to run when pulled as the prior owner wanted to put larger engines in, but passed away. In looking at the valves, they appear to have run not too long ago.

I’d jump on the CT39052E but live in TN. Do you have any shipping options? I could coordinate freight pickup.

Shipping is the issue. Fastenal no longer takes freight from here. I could bolt it to a pallet and build a box over it, ...just thinking at the keyboard.

Agreed. Without shipping, I have no way to get this economically. I can check with freight company to see if a 'crated' engine could be picked up and shipped. Let me check into it if you'd be willing to 'crate' it. I'd be willing to pay extra for your effort.

I'm open. I'm fearful that the shipping cost will exceed the cost of the engine. But....who knows.

Put the engine on a pallet, drain the oil, tie down well. Go to Uship.com and answer the questions. Companies will bid on a shipping price. I shipped an engine from Chicago to Sacramento for about $225. It is cheaper if someone drops off the shipment at the trucking firm and then Picks up at the receiving trucking firm at the other end.
You will need to know, size of pallet, with engine height, weight of pallet and engine. Estimates are close enough.

Thanks Jerry. I've not done it myself but have read online that engines can ship across the US for $250 - $350. I'll check out the uship.com.

I don't know their weight and size limits, but I once had a large crate of fiberglass bodywork shipped from the west coast to the midwest on a Greyhound bus. I only had to go to the station to pick it up, which was a painless process.

I wonder if Amtrak might offer a similar service?

Greyhound here, does not take freight anymore. They closed their office and require on-line booking. The driver's take care of all processing. Greyhound used to be my go-to carrier.

I did a quick quote on uship.com, with liftgate service at pickup and drop off. Quote is around $870. Checking other options.
