I had my first race on Sunday with the new engine
I’m in a new class 130 to 180bhp/tonne
Some other competitors were obviously worried !!!:ROFLMAO:

1st in class

PB time

and beat the old bogey time thus setting the new bogey time.

previous best 71.64 (now class 2a bogey)

bogey time for my new class 2b 70.50

pb 69.54

wonderful day where everything clicked including the weather. Dry sunny cool air temps.

car certainly had a thorough test. The extra power was good but the changes in torque character were a real benefit.

only 6-7 mph more over the line but the tyres really gripped and saw me through the corners and limited spin out of the corners

my gauge is the class bogey time. This is a set time that at a good car and driver in that class could achieve or the fastest time actually set.

I thought that 70.50 would be tough as it was over a second off my best- on a very twisty 1467metres

So a 69.54 is mega for me. Hopefully the GoPro worked.

Well done! It's no surprise what a little more HP will do. I leave for Laguna Seca Raceway Wednesday (4:30 am) for the 12.5 hour drive to compete in SVRA's Speedfest event, > 2022 Trans Am SpeedFest | SVRA < Thursday practice, then three days of road racing on the world famous Monterey track.

Looks like you get lots of track time in recompense for your long drive to get there !!
Unlike my sprints.
Enjoy and stay safe

Yes, we got lots of track time. We had rain Thursday and a little Friday morning, but I had some solid practice time before qualify. I was able to lower my lap times by two seconds with every outing. Unfortunately, I broke a lifer (follower) at the end of my second qualify race which kept me out of the two feature races. The whole Team Healey PDX Crew had a wonderful time in Monterey, enjoying great dinners & wine, even meeting the iconic actor Clint Eastwood at our favorite dinning spot.

Dougie I feel for you in missing the racing. Hope it’s easily fixed. Looks like a hot track ?
Meeting Clint I hope made of for it somewhat.
I have another sprint on Saturday. Aintree near Liverpool the home of the 1959 British Grand Prix
It’s a fast track so not suited to my tyres/gearing but fingers crossed it’s a dry one.
