Friend just told me about one he knows is for sale - red - 500 miles on it & he thinks I can get it for around $4,000...anybody know anything about them?

Didn't Marlon Brandon ride an old Triumph Thunderbird in the movie "The Wild One"?

Tony, 4K is about right, maybe a bit high for that bike. It is though, very desireable among the TBS models. Fully adjustable suspension front and rear. 885cc water cooled triple with carburetors making about 98hp. Rock solid engine that has a hair raising howl at high revs.
Oddly enough, I was at the dealer in Tyler, Texas, this morning, and they have a new '03 still sitting on the floor.
Check www.triumphrat.net, a web site with grown up people like this one. Look under Classics and Cruisers, and then Hinckley Classic Triples to see what folk have to say. They also have a photo album broken down by model.

"Motorcycling used to be my second favorite thing, but now I've become an old man, it's moved up a notch."

There is a nice one in the Portland OR Craig's List on 7-25 for $3200. I'm interested. They are not FI yet though.

They're stuck at $4,500...& I can't test ride it until I get my M certification....after all these years, gotta take a written test! Who cares how big a bike a 15 year old can ride?
