My 98 Ford escort is not starting. The engine turns over but as I have discovered no fuel is getting to the engine. I used the hand primer to pump the fuel filter full and still no fuel. However I have found out fuel is getting into the fuel injector pump as I have removed the solenoid and the plunger thinking that could solve the issue( bypass immobiliser or no power to solenoid) but that didn’t seem to work. But I did see fuel was squirting out of where the solenoid should be when removed and hand priming. I then checked the belts to see if the camshaft was seized and preventing the fuel to be pressurised but it was turning with no issue. Starting to believe that the problem is with the plunger return springs being seized or something along the lines. I’m not to familiar with the way around a car at the minute I bought this car to learn on but need a helping hand with what to look for as I’ve ran out of ideas. Would really like to avoid removing the injector belt as that means I will have to remove the timing belt aswell. Any suggestions?
