1996 XJ6

Last month I purchased my first Jag, it is a 1996 XJ6, with over 100k miles. I have already put some 3000 miles on the car, drove from Dallas,Tx to Nashville,TN (800 miles) and it is a daily driver forme. Gotta go borrow money for the gas, as it uses Premium ha ha, Here is my question, the dreaded stop engine light came on, I immedialtly checked the oil and it was ok, then went directly home, it would not start and had to be towed to a garage, it seems the relay in the fuel pumpl failed, and that caused the air injector pump to fail. I have had the relay in the fuel pump replace and locating an air pump it seems they had a voltage problem, not enought current. Any one know about this problem? Also my windshield washer does not wash. Checked the fuse, of course, pump direct wired works, mechanic says may be in either the switch or the body computer. Any thoughts on this. Any one know of a none dealer mechanic for jags in middle tn. The dealer ship in nashville tends to be, well, I would rather go elsewhere. thanks and sorry for being so wordy
