1989 xj6 FIXED!

Well, since I got my Jag several months ago, I have had just about every mineral oil related problem I can think of.

I fixed a leaking mineral oil reservoir.
I also believe that I've fixed a leaking suspension
I have replaced a brake accumulator

In the time of this whole mess, I have spent upwards of $150 on solely mineral oil.

Of course, there must be some questions...
I know that a bad accumulator can lead to a low brake pressure warning, and an anti-lock failure. I had these two warnings before replacing my brake accumulator, and I still do have these warnings. Now, I did procure my new accumulator from an "88 at a local junkyard. I think to myself, well, the brake pedal is considerably easier to pump down, but could this new accumulator be failING, as opposed to completely gone like my old accumulator? Please, any information regarding this problem is greatly appreciated.

Firstly, I am happy that you have got this car almost sorted, I have been monitoring your progress and all the stumbling blocks along the way.

It could well be that the new accumulator is on its way out, but I would not have expected the lights to start coming on until it actually did go south on you. My gut feeling is that since they never went away, they probably just need to be reset. My BMW of similar vintage is that way, the warnings do not automatically go away once an errant part has been replaced. It may need a trip to a dealer to do that, or if there is a good, independent import specialist reasonably close-by they may well be able to reset things for you.

I suspect that there may be a DIY solution as well, but it will need the input of our resident Jaguar gurus to be able to know for sure.

Well, I thank you for your support. It seems that once I fix a problem, another arises. Now, the car won't start, and it's most likely the starter, but that's another thread all together.
