i need help . this has been fuxin with me for about 2 weeks, i have a 85 jaguar xj6 what just refuses to do much of anyhting ..it ran just fine untill my dad drove it and now it wont do much of anything ..

battery has full charge.. i replaced the starter/silonoid and when i turn the key all it does is click and you can hear fuel going through the regulator but not much else happens. is there possibly a relay or somethign that i could be missing that could have gone bad?

Check the connection from the earth strap to the chassis, just in case. The battery or one of its connections still sounds like the main culprit to me. Turn on the lights, then try starting the car. If the lights dim, then that's your problem.

Check the starter realy. It is a silver box on the right inner fender. There are several wires attached to it. Take the brown wire and jump it to the white/red wire. If the starter engages, you have a bad relay. If the starter clicks but doesn't engage, the problem is in the starter.

Be careful. the brown wire is always hot. Make sure the car is not in gear sicne you will be bypassing the neutral safety switch.
