While looking at the back of the heaterfan blower motor, should the blades be turning clockwise or counterclockwise?

Is this a trick question? It should be blowing air away from motor. Doesnt matter which way motor turns. Maybe the fan was put on backwards. Is the back of the motor toward the front of the car? Is the motor mounted or on the bench?
