Hello MGB fans!
I am new to this site.
I have uploaded some photos of my MG on my “MySpace” web page.
https://www.myspace.com/chicago_ray
Click on “Chicago Ray's Latest Blog Entry“ section that says 1979 MGB.
The car was purchased new by me in June of 1979.
It has a little over 24,600 original miles. The car has never been in the rain, and is unrestored.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
Thanks,
Ray

Thanks for the compliment!
It is allot of work to keep a car that way.
It is nice to know that it is appreciated.
I do all of my driving during the fall.
I take 5 four day weekends off and drive around the countryside.
I love the cooler weather, the color of the leaves.
It does not get any better than that!!
I see that you own a 1980 MGB.
Is it a Limited Edition?
Sinking Springs, PA sounds beautiful!
I bet you have tons’o fun driving around.
Happy motoring!
Ray

Cheers!

Like the blog and the car.
The pinstripe detail on the bonnett is pretty neat.
That is one clean "B"
From a fellow folk music lover/ vinyl collector, Welcome

Thanks,
The pin stripping was a dealer option from AC Imports in Palatine, IL.
They also added a trunk carpet kit, wheel trim rings, “Coco” floor mats, hardwood gearshift knob, front air dam,
and undercoating.
When I went to purchase the car, I had my dad with me. He is the consummate dealer when it comes to cars.
I remember trying to haggle with the dealer, we tried to get him down on the price. He kept saying, if you want the car, this is the price, period!
Finally, he threw in the extras to make me happy. I went to the same mechanic for over 12 years. When I went in for the usual maintenance checks, I remember telling him that I had a little oil leak. Now this is on a brand new car! After the third time telling him about the leak, he finally said “if it stops leaking oil you have a problem — cause you have no oil in the car!” Can you imagine if the car was a Toyota? I just accepted the fact that it leaked oil and that was that! I love the idiosyncrasies of these little cars. They are like little children.
