I have a '77 Spit and it can use unleaded as even stated on the fuel gauge. Can a 1974 1/2 MGB use unleaded?

I was referring to needing a lead additive. I wish I could just get leaded. However the PO said the head was changed in 1990 to unleaded, so I'm good to go.
