I was replacing the vent hoses to the carbs and to the canister and ended up snapping off the nipple on the canister. The question is how will it effect the running of the car with that being capped off and not have the vents to the carbs hooked up. Thanks
 
If it were me I wouldn't be concerned about capping closed the nipple on the Carbon Canister (CC), but I would seal up the end of that hose or eliminate it all together.
Just a hose from the Valve Cover tee'd with a branch to each carb would be fine....you need the carbs sucking on the valve cover, but not necessarily on the CC...I know people may disagree, but in fact it works fine for me without having the carbs connected to a CC.

Those are Longflo air cleaners.
Victoria British sells them..You can get oval or round..
If there is any performance gain...or loss..I haven't noticed it.

There are several components. The filter itself is foam.
 
I have/had Weiand on my TR4A that are the same design. Bought them from Paeco back in the early 80s.

I wonder if Weiand just OEM's them from Longflo since I don't see them on Weiand's website and no one else seems to carry them.
