MGB-GT 1972 MGB Cloth Seats [Original?]

Here at the shop we've got a 1972 MGB-GT with 19,000 original miles. It does not appear to have been worked on at all, but has obvious deterioration from careless long term storage without use. One of the things we need to do is replace the interior.

The seats are a (to me) unique nylon cloth insert pattern in the 1970-72 pattern. They follow that pattern, but instead of the basketweave vinyl inserts they have similar vertically stitched nylon cloth exactly (I believe) like the cloth used in the 1973 and later seats. I'm not able to find these covers reproduced or even mentioned anywhere. I have an originality guide (Clausager's Original MGB) at home, but I don't have a copy here at the shop.

Is this an option in 1972 that I'm not aware of, or are these seats custom/aftermarket? The latter I doubt due to the VERY low mileage the car has covered. Is it possible that GT seats had these covers and they're not mentioned anywhere on the internet and are unavailable? Any ideas?

I had 2 72s and a 70, they all had vinyl seats. Because of it's age, it's possible the seats were switched with a 73 or 74. Easiest thing to change in the car, about a 20 minute job. I never liked the vinyl seats and put leather seats in the last 72 we had. PJ
