1970 series 2 e type serial number location

<span style="font-size: 14pt"><span style="color: #3333FF"> </span>I'm going to look at a 1970 etype series 2 4.2 roadster...LHD ......(i'm taking a mechanic with me) The car looks good having been redone but i want to check myself, if the numbers all match.....i want original (engine gearbox etc).....i've read the serial number is on the crossmember above the front right shock....is right the drivers side or passenger...I assume the builder plate is the one on the engine...are there any other serial numbers and if so where are they ....My Porsche has 5 locations and my Rovers have 4

There is a number located on the front shock tower that should match the number on the windscreen post. The gearbox number will be difficult to see with out a mirror, lift and torch...flashlite. The motor number is clearly stamped. No numbers on the doors, lids, etc like a Porky. Plate will show the two previous mentioned numbers. If it is an LHD, find out how long it has been in the states. This vehicle would be worth tonnes in the UK, but not as dear in the USA.
