The time has come to find my right hand drive 1970 MGB a new home. I bought this car in 2011 out of Canada. Sold it to a friend a few years later and then bought it back about 10 years ago. I've enjoyed it greatly, but it is now time for me to focus on different things.
The good:
* Running and driving
* Original engine rebuilt 3000 miles or so ago. New stainless exhaust at the same time
* Carbs rebuilt this summer by Joe Curto
* Front suspension and front brakes redone last summer
* Factory overdrive car (though not the original transmission, it is a correct one) -- OD works well
* Body is generally solid and the paint is decent
* Interior is in great shape
* Full ownership history back to when it was first sold in England
The mediocre:
* Front brakes squeal frequently and vociferously though they work well
* Heater blower doesn't work, haven't dug in to see why
* Rebuilt carbs still need a little tuning
* Car has always been a little slow to start when cold, but does always start
The bad:
* Crack-of-doom on both door skins (note the white duct tape covering the cracks)
* Some rust bubbling on the bottom of both doors and little on some of the beading (see photos). Rust hasn't gotten worse since I bought the car in 2011, but it also hasn't self-healed either
* Rear exhaust hanger is broken and will need to be welded. Currently just baling-wired in place
* Transmission leaks, not just normal British car amounts but fairly serious about it
Given all the good and bad I'm asking $5000 for the car as it sits. I've got some other things I want to focus on, so it is time for it to go to someone else. I also have a ton of spares including another aluminum bonnet, 2 more engines, and a variety of other spares that would go with the car if wanted.
More photos of the car (note some pictures are from when I sold the car to my friend, but still represent the general condition):
