MGB 1970 MGB restoration

So the kiddo and I were starting to pull the fuel system out of her MGB project tonight.

We got it out and it has to easily be the most nasty goobery mess I have ever seen. Keep in mind that this tank has been tipped on it's side:

This was just one of those where I can't help but wonder what is was that happened to this car to cause this much of a mess....
 
Quite a few of them were/are in that condition, some worse. I'm speaking of the whole car, not just the tank. I was given a 72 once and I refused to put it on my trailer. The car would have pulled apart winching it up on the trailer. They eventually picked it up with a front end loader and scrapped the whole thing.
I think it's great what you and your daughter are doing, not for the cars sake, but for your daughter. More people would profit, working with their kids like that. I applaud you.
