Thanks for the welcome. Its a BR green, 6 cyl. coupe. it was wrecked on the left side.(ie door, quarter, door glass, back glass and two wire wheels). Thats just from a quick look. The quarter maybe repairable haven't gotten into it yet. I went from one barn(seller) to another(my parents) and I haven't gotten near it since I moved it there due to all the snow!!! I'll get some pictures asap!

AS long as its not rusted out and is otherwise complete, it would probably be a great restoration project! Can't wait to see pics!

Amazinly enough its very solid. There is no rust though that I saw. It had rust where the paint flexed and left bear metal, but its very very solid car. I did get a door on ebay for 80.00 shipped to my house, so I'm getting some parts and starting to look that direction.

The hard part is to convince the wife I need another toy to fix up! Sitting on 20 car in various stages of construction-destruction-or drivers make the argument of needing it a little hard for her to fall for!

One word of serious advice - if the bird cage (the framework that comes off the fireall to hold the engine) if it is bent at all, do NOT repair it - buy new components! Trust me on this. Aything else can be reparied, but dont try to repair the bird cage.

The front of the car has only a slight ding on the very nose of the car. It seems to have taken the bunt on the driver door and qtr. panel. The wheels all seem to be pointing straight. Its missing the left front wheel and the spair. I'll check out the bird cage seems fine(?), but thanks for the advice I'll check it out close!

Well I was mostly(all) Triumph (Tr3,remains of a Tr4 and Tr6,Tr7 and 4 Spitfires). I took the big plunge and bought this XKE. Now I need to decide if I should repair of part it. Its one of those found in a barn stories(but I was the lucky one this time). It was wrecked in 1976 and has been parked ever since. I'll keep you all posted on my decision and update if I rebuild! Welcome to the forum Dave! Have you any pictures? What kind of damage is there? Rust? How is it mechanically? Also is it a Roadster, Coupe or 2+2?
