Hello,This being my first venture into restoring a British Auto, is proving to be interesting. Now the question, I have a dipstick tube which is broken off flush with the block. Any ideas on removing it?

Are you talking about the little plastic piece that fits into the block. Just a press fit, ought to be able to get some sort of hook type screwdriver thingy and put down center of the tube and hook under the bottom edge of the plastic tube.

Use a coat hanger wire with a hook bent in the end.

Hello , Got the stinker out,I ran a long screw into it and using a pry bar it popped out.
