Spitfire 1969 Spitfire seat upholstery

am having trouble locating replacement vinyl seat upholstery kits for a 1969 Spitfire. this is the seat with the fixed headrest.

I need a full set of black.

Mike - I would have thought the major suppliers would have them. Typically called "High Back" I think. I know Moss lists them (fairly pricey), and Spitbits. I assume TRF and VickBrit would.

The highbacks are more money than the ones with detachable headrests, but then once you buy the headrest kits maybe it all works out.

I got a low-back upholstery kit from Canley Classics in the UK last year. Pretty reasonable, although shipping added quite a lot, and good quality. They list their sets for MkIV now at ÂŁ137. I'm not sure if the highback seat was sold in the UK though, so these may be for detachable headrest seats.

Well, i checked the Spit Bits site and the VB site and could not find them. No, I didn't check Moss yet. Will do that today.

So, now I am wondering if maybe I'd be happier with some earlier pre-head rest seats from an older Spider.

Anyone wanna sell me some seat frames? Need both sides.

Attached is from Spitbits site. I think their 1970-72 seat kits are Highback, although they don't say so. You'll note they list 70-72 foams as highback, but they don't say explicitly on the seat covers.

Given the additional cost, I would assume 70-72 seat covers are highback.

You can always call Nigel and ask.

The ones I saw at Moss were $600+ as I recall, although they have a sale on this week and may be lower.

I did not see any at VB either. I just checked. They seem to have MkIII and 1500 but I can't see MkIV.
