1967 E-Type Seat Cover Replacement

I am re-covering the seats on a 1967 E-type roadster. The seat backs were easy, however the seat bottoms are not. I cannot seem to be able to pull on the top back of the new bottom cushion cover enough to make the top beading on the top front of the seat cover be flush against the foam. Is there a trick to this? Should I staple the front of the seat bottom cover down and then try to pull the seat from the back to try to get it to fit?

Did you "soften" them up in the clothes dryer first?
Not sure how that works if leather, but on naugahyde, worked wonders.
You could pull it into place, and it would settle back when cool.

Did ya ask on then Jag specific forums, like JCNA and JagLovers?

I would recommend the Jag-Lovers E-type Forum.

at the JCNA, chances are your question will turn into a fight.

Ya think?

I'm surprised the last one didn't end up with baseball bats!

I did the easy to do backs myself and took the bottoms to a shop. Best 50bucks I ever spent. Done right, looks great. Be proud you at least did the backs.
