1966 Triumph 2000 on BAT

Neat cars...totally a US creation at the dealer/distributor level to try to sell the cars. Sadly, the 2000 never caught on in the US, with just over 1800 units sold over two years here. ISTR the "vinyl" roofs were actually painted on, and the corporate parts bins yielded the wood steering wheel and shift knob, "crossed-flag" badges came from the Herald convertible and the US-sourced "Air-Flow" wheel covers were dealer-optional on Heralds and Spitfire.

The 2000 estates and fastbacks are awesome

That would be a nice car. I wish I could afford it.

There's one of those here that the owner wanted
to give away.I tried to find someone - with no takers.
I believe the car's still there.

Welcome!

Something about the engine bay caught my eye right away - not a V6 but instead a V8 (as the ad said, duh).
