TR4/4A 1966 Tr 4a, seats

Are the two seats interchangeable, driver to passenger side and visa versa. The complete seat, mounting frame et al.
The back of the driver seat in looking beat up after 15 years. Maybe I could switch the leather covers? Yes? No?
Thanks for any ideas.

I think that the only difference is that the passenger seat tilts and the drivers seat back is spot welded to the bottom. I think that the entire seats will interchange (if you don't mind the wrong seat tilting) but the covers do not come off easily nor without damage.

Actually the backs are slightly different. If memory serves me right the part of the back that surrounds the pleated center is narrower to the inside and wider to the outside of each seat. Both seats hinge from the front and completely tilt the seat as well as the back.

Yep, my error, thought the were the same as TR4. Tom

Thanks Geo. I remembered that as soon as I saw Jerry's post. Case of CRS, I guess. Tom

# 4 is almost correct.

One side of the seat back is slightly narrower but the outside, possible to clear the door posts. I tried reversed seats first but posts interfere w/o forcing seats down.
Mounting frames are the same but different holes are used. For a while I thought I reassembled them wrong..... last century!
Thanks for all your comments
