"1966" E-TYPE RDSTR Potentially For Sale???

Hello World;

I will be acquiring a `1966 Series I Roadster in the very near future: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

It will need a complete and full restoration: To the best of my knowledge; She`s a "One Owner" car! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I will have a clear title to her: More details to follow after I get the car back to my home: Meaning Chassis #; Engine # etc: She seems to be quite complete:

Please just drop me a note if you would have any interest in this project:

"She`s a "One Owner" car" ...I always have doubts about that...

"It will need a complete and full restoration" ...now you're back to reality...

"I will have a clear title to her" ...you better, and the Keys too, don't forget the latest XJ-6L fiasco...

"She seems to be quite complete" ...until you realize it is not...

"drop me a note if you would have any interest in this project" ...I prefer to wait until you have recovered from the shock...

Hi There Exotexs;

Once I get her; I`ll sort everything out & post my findings here: I`m not holding my breath on the "Keys"!!

I`ve even thought about the XJ6L as a parts car to re-sell the parts but have decided against it! Its not worth the aggrevation: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Cool! I've got a 67 EType! Look forward to hearing bout your new toy! The EType is the greatest production car that the ordinary guy could afford ever made as far as I'm concerned!

Howdy Folks;

I`m a bit concerned here!! Lets make sure were all thinking of the same, correct car! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazyeyes.gif

The `66 E-Type Rdstr needs a complete and total restoration: It`s pretty darn rough folks! Is this the car your referring to GB1 & Basil or the `64 Nice Driver one I bought? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

Re: "1966" E-TYPE RDSTR Potentially For Sale???

Hey GB1;

Where are some pics of your car? Would love to see her!

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

PS: Where in NY are you located?

Re: "1966" E-TYPE RDSTR Potentially For Sale???

Howdy GB1;

Today, I visited with the seller of the `69 E-Type Rdstr. to take a better second look at this project:

As it turns out; She is "NOT" the Orig. owner: She is in fact the 2nd owner since early to mid 70s:

I took an inventory of parts and for the better part, seems as most everything is there: I did`nt see the Headers or the glass or chrome trim covering the headlights: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

The windshield is history as something must have fallen on it in the garage: The upper portion of the chrome surround is bent in pretty hard: Lower portion and the two end pcs look pretty good:

I`ll have more info. in a few days: If you are seriously interested in this project; Please PM your email address to myself and I`ll get some pics out to you: There is a local gent who also has an interest in the car & I`ll know tomorrow (10-3) if he wants it or not:

Re: "1966" E-TYPE RDSTR Potentially For Sale???

see what I mean? it never fails. Here's some Car Advertising Translations I have accumulated through the years:

"Great Project Car" ...means it is a carcass. Somebody wants to sell their problem to you.

"It's All There" ...means it was left disassembled. Someone gave up. It's all there but the question is where? Red Flag.

"Car ran when it was stored 20 years ago" ...means it doesn't run 20 years later. Red Flag.

"Original tires" ...means the tires must be rotted.

"Same Owner last 20 years" ...means the owner has lost the Title and the Keys.. Red Flag.

"Old Ladie's Car" ...means it must be in terrible condition, old ladies are terrible drivers. Red Flag.

"Low Mileage" ...means the speedometer/odometer is not the original. Red Flag. Funny how they emphasize the mileage but know little about the rest of the car...

"Easy to fix" ...if it's so easy, why hasn't it been fixed? Red Flag.

"Must Sell" ...I bet he does.

"Best Offer" ...somebody please remove this thing off my backyard/garage and pay me something.

And on and on and on....

Re: "1966" E-TYPE RDSTR Potentially For Sale???

Exotexs...don't forget RARE - No body wants it. It has no collector value!!!

Re: "1966" E-TYPE RDSTR Potentially For Sale???

Russ,

'69 did not have glass covered headlights, if it was a '66 that would be interesting but not a '69.

Thanks,
Pat
