I am looking for the Correct Part No for the Lucas Voltage Reg. for my 1966 BJ8

This is the Part # that is Molded into the Cover.

I have a spare and I do not know if its the correct One

Thanks in advance
Mark

Off the top of my head, I think it is RB340.

So, is there a good source for this part? My original regulator is toast, and the replacement from my local Moss dealer is not Lucas, and does not appear as the original. The Lucas cover fits on the new regulator, but the cover attachment holes do not line up with the base plate.

Hi Cutlass,
If Randy's doesn't work out you could call British Car Specialists, they may have it. Holden in the UK lists them for sure.

Thanks, Randy. I think I'll go with a new one. My old reg looks fine, but just doesn't work. It would be interesting to know how to bench test and troubleshoot a regulator. It would be a good rainy day project. I do have the service manual for the car, but it contemplates testing on the car.

Usually the regulator only needs cleaning of the contact points. I wouldn't mess with the settings unless you are having trouble. All the manuals have good sections on the regulator.
