1966 BJ8 frame rebuilding questions

Am posting these questions for a friend who is kind of computer shy. 1) need a connection detail for the front outrigger to the
inner sill
assembly. Is this available?

2) need advice on dimensions. Dwg in AH
manual shows out to
out of front outriggers with sill assy is 48 3/4 in (see
dim no 36 on
page R.2). Without sill assy my dim is 49 3/8 in out to out
(photo
408) . Should I trim outriggers on frame side to ensure
correct
dimension or proceed was shown in photos.

3) need advice on how for
connect sill assemblies to front
outriggers (again photo 408). Do I butt
weld or cut notches in sill
assy?. Also the sill assembly is in two pieces. Do I weld them??? Do
you have any photos of this connection?
What is it with the fact that I cannot move the cursor down a line by hitting enter? Is it something related to me having just installed IE 10 or is it a glitch here?

Leo The 2 piece sills get welded together. Some guys drill holes and plug weld them. I am fortunate and have a spot welder and spot welded them. I believe that is how factory did them. If you still have your front inner fender wells on, you should see where sills were tied into the back of them. If car was never wrecked you should have a good dimension there. My car was pretty close to the manuals dimensions. There should be a slight step or ledge that the inner sill sits on. Maybe a few other guys will chime in with pics and more info.
