I'm a new member to the forum and so far have enjoyed reading several of the posts. I've owned several British sports cars over the years especially when I was very young and didn't have the funds to make them better or keep them going. The sports cars I've owned over the years are as follows; 1960 MGA coupe, 1965 Triumph TR4A, 1965 MGB, and a 1979 MGB. Currenty my summer time sports car is a 2002 Mercedes Benz SL 500 "Silver Arrow".
Now a brief intro into my "Resurection Project". The 1965 MGB I mentioned I still owned. Unfortunately it has been stored outside unprotected for the last 35years?? Best I can remember. The car had settled into the ground up to the side sills and bottom of the car. I've spent most of the summer digging dirt out from underneath getting it up on jack stands, removing the wire wheels, freeing the brakes up, and spraying every nut, bolt, screw, and body fastener every time I visit the car. The car is in rough shape but the front of the car (hood, engine has not Ben disturbed). Obviously the floor is long gone and the outside side sills, portions of inner sills are still there. This a lot more to tell, this is my introduction to BCF. Yes, I am taking plenty of pictures and a detailed log.
Before I roll the car I must put in some temporary structural supports so I can hopefully load the car up in one piece!!! (Ha-ha). I'm in the market for a Donor car (tub). It doesn't have to have an engine, transmission, or rear end, if it does roll it would make life easier, but not mandatory. So in signing off if anyone out there has a 1965 donor for sale "I'm interested". Well that's it for me I look forward to continuing the topic with anyone who's interested. Bye for now.
