1964 Midget on eBay -closing today, nearly 10K nfi

Ah, a Craig Kendall car. He does find nice ones and takes lots of nice photos. But the photos of the engine bay seem to be hiding some sins. Looks like it was "rattle canned" black on the inner fenders.

hehhehheh...

(sometimes the 'rattle can' works out ok)

So this isn't a "Barnhill" Midget, but I would expect that little red Barnhill Midget to be quite a bit more highly valued - at least by those who have followed its progress.

Still, whoever gets this one should be pretty happy.

Nice car indeed. Funny how the head "looks" to be a 1275cc head? The casting around the thermostat is flattened just like a 1275 instead of a 1098 CC or CG. Might be an interesting story of it’s past. But what a survivor!

Nice car, and not meaning to nitpick here, but a couple questions:

Did the early Midgets have Healey green engines?

Is the top fitment correct? The rear goes past the teardrop hooks, and instead uses Lift-a-Dot fasteners. Pretty low on the sides as well. Is that top correct?

That's not healey green. It's the normal A series green used on Morris, sprites, midgets and minis up to a point. Healey green was different. Yes the top fittment is incorrect. Shame seeing all the snaps screwed into the bodywork like that.

Well, he got a real nice fit on the boot lid!!! That top fitment is odd! Why leave the two receivers there (which are in the wrong place for the hood!)if you are going to put all those snaps in instead?

Really nice car. I really enjoyed the pictures, but did anyone notice they are dated 1/1/04. Either his camera date is a little off or the pictures are old. Still, I love the pictures and the car. That might be a lot better bargain than my project!

P.S.- I"ve had the same thing happen with my garage queens when I've tried to sell them on the internet. You know, detail like mad, take pictures then peddle the car over time. Sometimes it takes awhile to sell a classic. I was called on it and promptly took a new set of pictures to prove good intent.

He probably left the batteries out of the camera (or its brand new) and didn't reset the clock - it's base date is 1-1-04.
I have one like that too, just taking the batts out & putting them back in you have to reset the clock or it's at 01-01-00.

Yeah, those snaps are a real eyesore with the top off... beautiful car though! And about as rust-free as you could hope for, from the looks of it.
