1963 Triumph TR 3B. TCF
Only 3,331 ever built. Off frame restoration completed in 1998. Only 7,017 miles since restoration. Excellent condition. Original Carburetors included in the sale.
What the "TCF" signifies:
TCF series: These were the second series of TR3B models, produced after the first TSF series.
Commission numbers: TCF commission numbers range from TCF1L to TCF2804L.
A 1963 model year: Although TR3B production officially ended in late 1962, a few were built into 1963, making 1963 TR3Bs very rare.
Valuable & Desirable: The TCF series is considered the most valuable and desirable production run of the TR3B due to its modern features.
Key Features of a TCF Series TR3B:
Upgraded Engine: Equipped with the larger 2.2-liter (2183 cc) 2138 cc "Standard wet-liner" engine.
Synchromesh Transmission: Fitted with a full synchromesh four-speed gearbox for smoother gear changes.
Parallel Production: Produced alongside the new Triumph TR4, utilizing remaining TR3 body shells but incorporating the TR4's engine and transmission.
Side Curtains: Unlike the TR4, the TCF series still used the older TR3 side-curtain setup, but the upgraded engine and transmission offered a superior driving experience.
Rare: The combination of a late TCF series, a 1963 build date, and the "side-curtain" body makes it a particularly rare and sought-after variant.
Located in Berwick, Maine.
