1962 TR3A inner plate #

I have a 1962 TR3A (that's what the dealer has on the regs) but the inner plate has a number that does not start with a TS#. As you may know this could be critical when ordering parts. Is there any other way to tell what commission # it is.

So what are the letters that show ? It could also be TSF or TCF. There are a total of 3 possible plates on a TR3. Two of those plates will have letters at the beginning .

That is a bogus plate. Get out your title and take the number off that then purchase a different plate and put that title number on it. If that number is on your title, leave it because you might start something with the paper work. that is what i would do
 
First that looks like a reproduction plate that can be readily purchased at several suppliers. Such as The Roadster Factory or Moss Motors. I do believe that an original plate would have raised letters on the base plate. So as has been stated above the stampings on that plate do not come close to matching the original stamping.
You need to try to find any proof of an original number . As I stated earlier there are at least two other plates that were supplied originally on the car. Unfortunately they only help to lead you near the original commission number of the car. One addition number that may get you close the the commission number is the engine number. Assuming the engine is original to the car. That is likely a 50-50 chance. If you have a title does it have a number ?
You may well have a long road depending on what state you are in.

Have the numbers been over stamped? The numbers look like they have the remnants of another number under the sharp crocked number.
